Waiting to Exhale (1995)
Directed by: Forrest Whitaker
Written by: Terry McMillan (novel and screenplay) & Ronald Bass (screenplay)
A romantic dramedy about 4 black women & their struggle with their relationships. Starring: Whitney Houston, Angela Basset, & Loretta Devine.
 - I’ve heard about this movie from a lot of people when I was younger but I never took the time to see what they were talking about, until now… It actually is a pretty good movie, a little racial for me but good. I dislike movies that have racist moments but otherwise it’s cool. The acting great, and there couldn’t have been a better cast. This is something to see with a group of FEMALE friends. I don’t actually think that ANY man would enjoy this movie. Overall, I give this movie a 7/10.

Morning Glory (2010)
Written by: Aline Brush McKenna
Directed by: Roger Michell
Becky Fuller is an executive producer with “bipolar luck”, and focuses more on her career than having a life.. After trying so hard to get her new job, because she was previously fired from the old one, she has to work even harder to maintain the stars of the show. A Romantic Dramedy starring: Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, & Diane Keaton.

  - Rachel McAdams is a great actress, and I don’t bash her for this.. excuse my french.. but what the hell?! Don’t get me wrong the plot was different, and the casting director did a good job but I wasn’t impressed with this movie at all. There were parts that did make me “LOL” but I wouldn’t actually be able to tell you which parts those were.. and that’s sad, even for me. If you absolutely HAVE to watch this movie, do it alone.. because you’d probably end up turning it off if you watched it with anyone else. I rate this movie a 4 1/2 /10.

Christmas Cupid (2010)
Written by: Aury Wallington
Directed by: Gil Junger
Sloane is ungrateful, stylish and money hungry and comes to a rude awakening when her most important client (Caitlin) dies. She is then visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present & Future which are the spirits of her ex-boyfriends. Sloane soon comes to realize how selfish she is, & makes everything right just in the nick of time.A Family Comedy/Fantasy starring: Christina Milian, Ashley Benson & Jackee Harry.
   - Let me start off by saying that I know it’s January, I don’t care that I’m late..Anyways.. I was fairly disappointed in this movie, but then again with Christina Milian being the star, what can you actually expect. In a way the actors were fine, but the writing was just… unexceptable. It’s not the worst movie I’ve ever seen, but its no where near the best. Don’t bother watching this movie next Christmas unless the only thing you watch is ABC FAMILY or you’re Ashley Bensons’ biggest fan. I give this movie a 3/10.

From Prada to Nada (2011)
Directed by: Angel Garcia
Written by: Fina Torres, Luis Alfaro, Craig Fernandez (screenplay) ; Novel “Sense and Sensibility” by: Jane Austen

A Romantic Dramedy about two spoiled Latin sisters who become troubled after their fathers sudden death, and discovering that they are now broke. Leaving them no choice but to move to East LA with their aunt. Starring: Alexa Vega, Camilla Belle, & Kuno Becker.
 - The only thing truly original about this movie was the fact that the actors were Latin. Though it is a good story line, I’m sort of bored with it. I’m a little happy that they put Alexa Vega in a movie, but this probably wasn’t the greatest “come back” for her. This is something I’d expect to see on ABC Family or Disney. If you watch it, I’d only recommend it to see the slight difference between the others. Overall I give this movie a 5/10.

Janky Promoters (2009)
Written by: Ice Cube & Dircted by: Marcus Raboy
A crime/music/comedy about 2 friends who a terrible at promoting events who get a famous rapper to come to their town. Starring: Ice Cube, Mike Epps, & Young Jeezy.
   - This movie was just awful, I saw it about a year ago, but I got a refresher so that I could review it. I think that maybe Ice Cube was trying a little too hard to compete with his Friday movies instead of focusing on the storyline. I don’t Ice Cube is funny at all, it’s always his co-stars that make the movies. Anyways, I don’t recommend anyone to watch this.. there were a few funny parts, but not enough to waist your time for. 1/5.

Love and Other Drugs (2010)
Written by: Charles Randolph & Edward Zwick
Directed by: Edward Zwick
A romantic dramedy set in the early 1900’s about a player who happens to be a drug rep and falls in love with a woman who suffers from Parkinson’s disease.
 - This would actually be my first time seeing Jake Gyllenhaal act, and I must say, I’m very impressed. I think he should be in more movies. As for Anne Hathway, I’ll give her credit, she has come along way from the Princess Diaries. FINALLY! A movie that has an original plot. The drama is a bit serious but not enough for a tear jerker. A little nudity, some loud moaning for some sex scenes. Wouldn’t recommend this movie for anyone under 17. Mostly something to watch alone or with a significant other. I give this movie a 4 1/2 /5.

Super 8 (2011)
Written & Directed by: J.J. Abrams
A Sci-Fi/Mystery/Thriller about a group of young film makers in the summer of 1979, who witness a train crash that turns out to be planned. And discover what is destroying their town. Starring: Elle Fanning, Amanda Michalka, Kyle Chandler.
 - As hard as this movie is to describe I think I did a pretty okay job. Moving on — This movie was mind-blowing ! I recommend everyone who loves action movies, or anyone period. Well, over 14. I had so many questions about it, but I’m going to leave that alone. I really don’t know what else to say…Just go see it! 5/5.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
Directed by: Rob Marshall
Written by: Ted Elliot & Terry Rossio
Jack Sparrow goes on a quest to find the Fountain of Youth, and runs into trouble when he’s realizes he’s not alone.
 - The only reason you should see this movie is if you saw the first 3. Otherwise you won’t get the movie. I was a little sad that Orlando wasn’t in this one, but I’ll survive. As usual, this movie is super funny, and full of amazing stunts. These movies are usually long, but it’s totally worth it. Something to see with your friends and family, from any age. I give this movie a 4 ½/5.

Bridesmaids (2011)
Directed by: Paul Feig
Written by: Kristen Wiig & Annie Mumolo
A comedy about broke maid of honor who tries to make the best wedding for her best friend, gets interrupted by another bridesmaid and everything goes downhill.
 - This is definitely a movie to see if you’re a teenage girl or if you’ve ever been in a wedding. This movie is really entertaining and fun to watch with friends. Go see it if you haven’t you’ll have lots of insiders. In a way it’s a bit of a female - Hangover. It’s a little longer than it should be, but besides that’s its pretty good. Starring: Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, & Rose Byrne. I give this a 4/5.
